She doesn't really look like her AQHA registration papers; Foxy Eyed Girl !!
She is a local surrender/neglect that came in this morning. She stands about 14hh and is, under all that manured body....a Palomino age 9. Her body score is a 2.5. Under her body hair you can feel every rib and hip bones, wither etc. She will need "The works". Coggins, vaccinations, worming, stall care until she gains enough weight to be in an outside paddock. She will need her teeth floated and feet trimmed. We are grateful she is here and we are all doting on her!
Your help is needed.... to afford her needs. We just had the whole herd vaccinated, some Coggins done etc and haven't gotten THAT bill yet!! I am asking once again, for our supporters to please donate a few bucks if you are able!!??
Our paypal address is rescue.horses@yahoo.com. Please use friends and family so fees are not taken out of your donations! She was a therapy pony before her owner died about 4 years ago........likely someday she will do so again!!
Thank you in advance for your generous hearts!! 53020. Oh and by the way........her name is Dixie!

RJ Update
After RJ's incident with a hay feeder a few months ago, along with surgery to remove his badly injured eye, he seems to have acclimated as well as could be expected. He's had some chiro treatments that have helped him, and he seems to have figured out how to navigate, seeing out of only one side. We are so very grateful to all those that showed concern, whether by monetary donation, calendar purchase or countless other ways.
We also would like to thank Jana Cartier with Fleet Farm. They really stepped up to the plate and covered not only the entire cost of RJ's medical care, but they also reimbursed us for the purchase and transportation of our new Bale Barns! The safety of our horses is so important, and this gives us peace of mind in that department!
Thanks also go to Helen Mitchell Melin with Bale Barns, llc. She was just fantastic to work with for our Bale Barn order. The horses really love them, and so do we!!!
