GUARDIAN STATUS

AGES is proud to announce that we have been granted Guardian status by the EQUUS Foundation again this year. This designation recognizes our commitment to the highest standards of accountability, responsibility, and transparency in fiscal management, horse care practices and governance. Along with this honor, we have been awarded a grant of $2,500 in addition to $600 distributed earlier this year by the EQUUS Foundation.

"All horses, even champions of the racetrack and the show ring, are only one unlucky sale away from abuse, neglect and slaughter," says the EQUUS Foundation, and we at AGES agree! The EQUUS Foundation is the only national animal welfare charity in the United States 100% dedicated to safeguarding the comfort and dignity of America's horses throughout their lives and sharing their magic and power with as many people as possible. Their mission is to protect America's horses and strengthen the bond between horses and people.

Thank you to the EQUUS Foundation!

Gabe Update

After much effort on the part of AGES, alongside his talented and steadfast trainer and given quality care both at AGES as well as at a very compassionate boarding facility, we have not been able to find an adopter for Gabe. As we learn more about him through training and through potential adopters coming to see him, it is determined that out of everybody's safety, we are not the right organization for Gabe. Although he is extremely lovable, has an outstanding personality, and is incredibly gorgeous, he also has "fight" tendencies, sometimes without warning.

THE GOOD NEWS!!!!!!
We found the perfect soft landing for our prince! We are beyond grateful to This Old Horse, Inc. in MN who said, "YES!" immediately! Turns out, one of the staff members who Erin spoke to on the phone has a gelding the SAME age as Gabe with the EXACT SAME temperament! Gabe sounds like the perfect companion for her guy! We will be "surrendering" Gabe to This Old Horse and the professionals at their facility will determine the best placement for Gabe, whether he stay permanently at their facility or they find an adopter. A huge thank you to This Old Horse for enthusiastically taking in our beautiful boy! Gabe will be leaving this Memorial Day weekend! We will miss him and we wish him the best!
