Sad News

Very sad news this morning. Our lovely Jemma - who was to get a physical to make sure she could make the trip, today was running with her herd for breakfast....was trying to go up a culvert/hill and either fell down or was pushed/shoved down. She broke her shoulder.. Vet arrived and said there was nothing to do but PTS. Our hearts....and yours as well - are a little shattered at the moment. YOU our AGES warriors....raised $2,000 to save and bring home to Wisconsin for a recovery and likely birth. It now won't be happening.

If you want to request a refund of your donation, please pm me directly and we are more than able to do that.

If you all want me to save another soul in need......with those funds.....please tell me that too!

I'm kinda just stunned right now....

Jemma

2/26/2022 UPDATE on Jemma!

She has her Coggins and Health Certificate....but did not have it in time for the original transport!! Currently we have transport set up for March 6th, 2022. She will be getting another vet visit on Monday to make sure she is physically able to transport at this time.....or if we should instead QT her locally there in TN. We will know by Monday or Tuesday!!

Thanks for your continued support!!!

Nona Adopted!

So long sweet Nona!!! Nona left for her forever home with new mama Lindsey Bozarth of West Brooklyn, Illinois! Nona will share a large pasture with her new Pasturemate Bella who also is a Loud Appaloosa mare who’s been alone and needs a BFF!!

Please send them off with a big grateful AGES sendoff!!

Goodbye Curly...

Monday, February 14th was Curly's last day on this earth with us. He went down suddenly, and after hours of vet care and all AGES' hands present trying, praying and encouraging, it was apparent he was done fighting.

He spent his last bit of life here knowing the tremendous amount of love, care and kindness that every horse deserves, and that is what makes this work so very worth the effort.

His best friend Princess was quickly introduced to her new friend, Peanut, and she seems to be doing well.

Run free, Curly. It was an honor to know you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRIGGER!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!?!

12 years ago Trigger, a permanent AGES resident, arrived. We don't know his exact birthday, but we've proclaimed it to be his adoption day. We DO know, however, that he is now 37 YEARS OLD! He was formerly used for breeding until the age of 25, at which point he came to join us, and he's been here ever since. He took good care of our blind mares for many years, and these days he can usually be found next to his best AGES buddy Andrew. They don't come much cuter, especially with that beautiful blonde mane. Please join us in wishing Trigger a very happy birthday and many more!!!

WELCOME NONA

Tomorrow we will be welcoming this blind Appaloosa mare from Sauk County to AGES. She was injured from being chased into a barbed wire fence. She has no name, and we don't know how old she is.

We are kindly requesting donations to assist with whatever she may need, and naming rights will go to the highest donor!

You may be able to see her this Sunday, October 3rd at Visitors' Day, but she will be quarantined until she is fully vetted, which means no touching, no treating, etc.

Paypal to rescue.horses@yahoo.com (Friends & Family) or checks made out to Amazing Grace Equine Sanctuary can be mailed to W4985 County Road FF, Elkhart Lake, WI, 53020. THANK YOU!

UPDATE - Congratulations to Kathy Harrison of Suamico, Wisconsin! She was our highest donor (by a MILE!) in our mare-naming contest. She wishes for her to keep the name we have been using, "Nona." Thank you, Kathy!!!
